On this episode of The Pitch Deck, I am very excited to bring to you Mike Belsito. Mike is a startup entrepreneur and author of the book, Startup Seed Funding for the Rest of Us: How to Raise $1 Million for Your Startup Outside of Silicon Valley. Mike raised nearly $1 Million for his previous company, eFuneral, from his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. In his book, Mike recounts his own experiences and combines them with insights from 14 other entrepreneurs and seed-stage investors from all over the country to prove that you don’t have to be in Silicon Valley to raise the seed capital you need to get your business off the ground.
Mike’s first start up was born when he was still attending business school at Case Western Reserve University and pitched the school’s athletic director to start a corporate sponsorship program. Within two years, he created, developed and ran the program and helped the school raise 10s of thousands of dollars. After that experience, he was hooked on the creation and startup world.
Listen in to hear Mike’s amazing story from his first startup in college, as well as the breakdown of the knowledge he gained from his business and creation of his book. He brings valuable and actionable information to the table that can help business owners learn how to maximize their small pond and grow and leverage it to become successful in any field.
